The Mortgage Mum, in partnership with LIBF are proud to announce the launch of their new fully funded scholarship designed to create opportunities for individuals from underrepresented communities aspiring to enter the mortgage and financial services profession.
The Mortgage Mum, LIBF Scholarship will offer three successful applicants full financial support to complete the LIBF CeMAP qualification, alongside tailored mentoring, industry insight, and personalised career development guidance delivered by The Mortgage Mum’s experienced Performance Managers.
The scholarship forms part of The Mortgage Mum’s continued commitment to widening access to the mortgage industry and ensuring that talent from all backgrounds has the opportunity to thrive. It aligns with LIBF’s mission to deliver education that supports social mobility and professional progression.
The Mortgage Mum is particularly looking for applications from people from underrepresented groups, or those who are keen to explore the profession but have faced barriers in the past, e.g. not knowing anyone working in the sector, having job or family commitments which have previously prevented study or experiencing financial challenges.
Throughout the application period, The Mortgage Mum will also be posting about the scheme on its social media channels for those keen to find out more.
Sarah Tucker, Founder & CEO, The Mortgage Mum, said:
“The mortgage industry can be an incredible career — but too often, the route in isn’t equally accessible to everyone.
This scholarship is about removing barriers and opening doors. We’re funding training, but more importantly we’re providing mentoring, encouragement, and real industry insight — giving someone the support they need to take that first step, and hopefully creating a ripple effect from there.
We want people from underrepresented backgrounds to see this profession as one they belong in — and one they can truly thrive in”
John Somerville, Head of Financial Services, LIBF, added:
“It’s great news that applications are now open for this new scholarship with The Mortgage Mum and LIBF, which we first announced in October last year.
“We believe education should be for everyone and want to remove barriers to entering the profession. Along with the support from Sarah’s team at The Mortgage Mum, the successful applicants will have free access to our industry-leading CeMAP qualification as well as receiving LIBF membership for the duration of their studies.
“We’re proud to be part of this scheme and are looking forward to hearing more from all the applicants keen to start their careers in mortgage advice.”
