Diary Entry: 10th March 2024
Another week has passed, and they appear to be getting quicker.
I think it’s safe to say I’ve got back into the “Ferrari” pace of life.
I am now driving 100mph again 🚗
My mind is full to the brim with new ideas and energy and goals.
And it feels powerful 💥
But thanks to my maternity leave, I know that driving at 100mph is fun and addictive…..But! 🛑
You have to learn how to get out of the “ Ferrari mode”at times, and slow it all down ✋🏻
Switch into Fiat mode.
Drive at 10mph for a bit.
Or even better, get out of the car and walk.
It’s only then that you can take stock and reflect. Notice the smaller details.
Make the right decisions.
Instead of charging ahead all the time.
Sometimes in Ferrari mode you can miss the beautiful things that mean the most.
And thanks to International Women’s Day, a women’s circle mid week and now Mother’s Day I’ve had plenty of reminders to slow down and reflect.
These posts help me to do that too.
This week I’ve taken part in:
– A talk for IWD with Nationwide reflecting on my journey, which was an amazing full circle moment ⭕️
After all, my very first Mortgage Mum course was held at Nationwide HQ and I remember feeling blown away at being able to use the space 🙏🏻
As a part time female broker I’d never ever been invited to visit a lender, let alone have space in their London office 🏢
So that was wonderful ✨
– I was part of a panel talk for IWD with MPowered Mortgages on inclusion for women.
And I left inspired by the women I shared the space with. I hope others did too.
This week also saw an anti climax of a Spring Budget, which was a shame, but definitely not the end of the world.
And finally, a weekend of Mother’s Day celebrations.
Where I am reminded of the core of this business.
My role as “Mother” to my beautiful children and my desire to create a space that allowed women like me to thrive.
Life can sometimes offer you reminders of how far you’ve come 🙏🏻
Alongside lessons to remind you of what you’ve learnt along the way.
It’s important to adapt your behaviours as you move ahead.
Our old patterns and habits can trip us up otherwise.
I’m glad my habit of 100mph racing has been met with a stillness and ability to take stock and slow down my thoughts and actions 🙏🏻
To me, that feels like huge personal growth.
And one that will serve me for many years to come.
Happy IWD to all the amazing women reading this and happy Mother’s Day to the phenomenal women juggling it all.
Be reminded of how amazing you really are.
Because you are a force.
And the world is finally waking up to it✨🤍
From my heart to yours,
Sarah x
