Joanna O’Shea

Jo has worked in the mortgage industry since she graduated from the University of Wales with a Business degree. She spent over 10 years as a Business Development Manager for Lloyds Banking Group building long-lasting relationships and educating mortgage advisors across the UK in a constantly changing environment. Coupled with a project role, designing and launching new mortgage products, she has a vast knowledge of mortgages and the available options across the market, especially Buy to Let. To support her role in the mortgage industry she completed her CeMAP qualification in 2011, with an aspiration of becoming an advisor herself.

The Mortgage Mum and their ethos has always inspired Jo, ‘I remember reading an article written by Sarah in a mortgage publication and knew I was going to work with her one day’. The time came when her youngest child started full time school, she already had the knowledge and a passion for working with and supporting people, so she completed ‘Your Complete Guide to becoming a Mortgage Broker’ a course that The Mortgage Mum offer for aspiring mortgage advisors.

‘Being a Mum is incredibly important to me and working with empowering women with a drive to guide and educate clients on their mortgage journeys, whilst also being present for their own families is the perfect career.’

Outside of work Jo spends time at a CrossFit gym she co-owns in Barry, South Wales. With her caring nature, she has a passion for making a difference and is proud of the community they have built. Jo is enthusiastic about carrying this over into her Mortgage Advisor role and being an important part of each client’s individual journey to buy, invest or mortgage their property.

When she is not working or at the gym, she is spending time with her two children and husband, learning Welsh, eating ice-cream on the beach at Barry Island and drinking coffee.
