Emma has over 4.5 years of experience in the property industry, having built her career in estate agency where she progressed from a Sales Negotiator to Assistant Branch Manager. This foundation gave her a thorough understanding of the buying and selling process, from the first viewing through to completion. Wanting to build on this knowledge, Emma went on to complete her CeMAP qualification and began her career in mortgages, combining her love of property with a passion for helping clients achieve their homeownership goals.

Now working as a Mortgage & Protection Adviser with The Mortgage Mum, Emma supports clients across a wide range of needs — from first-time buyers and home movers, to those looking at remortgages or buy-to-let opportunities. She draws on her estate agency experience to guide clients through every step of the journey, making the process as clear and stress-free as possible.

Emma says: “I love helping clients understand the jargon and ensure their needs are met. Whether it’s first-time buyers, home movers, or investors, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and supporting them every step of the way.”

As a mum of two young children, Emma wanted a more flexible way of working, which led her to join The Mortgage Mum. Here, she is able to balance family life while continuing to do what she loves; helping clients secure the right mortgage for their needs.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her children and wider family, playing netball, and spending time with friends.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Gemma who arranged my mortgage for me recently . Outstanding Service from Shelley – Highly Recommended

I cannot recommend Shelley enough! She recently helped secure bridging loan finance for a client, and the process was far from straightforward. Despite the challenges, Shelley’s expertise and determination ensured a successful outcome. She truly went above and beyond to get the best possible deal.

What really stood out was her constant communication and personable approach. Throughout the entire process, she kept both me and the client updated at every stage, ensuring we fully understood each step. She was always available to answer questions, provide reassurance, and navigate any hurdles that came our way. Her ability to explain complex financial matters in a clear and approachable manner made what could have been a stressful experience much smoother.

Shelley also took the time to present all available options, making sure the client was fully informed and in control. The Mortgage Mum company is indeed a truly professional company. This was evident in terms of the minute details of their documentation and system processes, at our very first meeting with Shelley Walker from The Mortgage Mum. Shelley was very confident that she would be in a position to help us. During that online conversation, for the first time in six months we felt hopeful. That, there was a possibility Shelley would be able to over come the barriers that a big company such as HSBC had put in place to refuse us an extension on our existing mortgage. These barriers or reasons were hard facts in terms of our citizenship, our place of residence, our employment status and more importantly, our age. Mortgage Mum was successful in getting us a lender even though HSBC did not want to consider us. This, in spite of the fact that we did not default even once in the last 20 years on repaying our mortgage monthly EMI's to them.

Though the process took its time, she was constantly chasing the lenders to get a decision in principle from them as soon as possible and which they did.

We are indeed thankful to Mortgage Mum with special mention of Shelley walker and her assistant Amy and would recommend their company and services to residents as well as non residents in the UK who are looking for a mortgage.
