Lauren joined The Mortgage Mum in 2021 after a varied career across financial services, marketing and administration.

Being tied to her desk all day in a typical office-based, 9-5 job changed her perspective and inspired her to make a career move into something more flexible with a true work-life balance. Something that would allow her to build a successful career and start a family without having to sacrifice one or
the other, which is so sadly the case for many women working in this industry.

Those close to Lauren would describe her as a people person – warm, friendly and always there to listen and lend her support. After reflecting on this and doing research into possible career options, with these strengths in mind, she decided that a Mortgage Advice role would be the perfect fit and began studying for her exams in 2019.

“I had a chat with Sarah after we were introduced online by chance, and I came away with the overwhelming feeling that The Mortgage Mum was exactly where I needed to be. I’m not sure whether this was down to the incredible ethos, beautiful brand or Sarah’s inspiring story about how
she started The Mortgage Mum, or all of the above. But I just knew I wanted  to be a part of this! It’s so refreshing to work alongside so many empowering and talented women, especially considering that the financial services industry is typically very male-oriented!” 

After moving many times and living all over the country, Lauren fully understands the home moving
process and its trials and tribulations, as well as the sense of joy and fulfilment that comes with it! 

“For me, it’s so much more than mortgages. I love that I get the opportunity to support people at
such an exciting and memorable time of their lives. It’s helping someone get that first set of keys in
their hand, find a dream project or upsize to a home with space to grow a family.”

Lauren loves all things home and interiors. In her spare time, she can be found (almost constantly) re-decorating her home and has dreams to one day build her own! Family life is also really important to Lauren, and she regularly travels across the country to visit them. When she’s not doing that,
you’ll find her at home baking and spending time with her partner and two cats.
