Celebrating Mother’s Day in Mortgage Mum Style

Every aspect of The Mortgage Mum, a dedicated team of women committed to helping customers find the best mortgage for them and their families, sends a positive and uplifting message about motherhood.

“Mum knows best. What to eat, what to wear, how to make it better. And when it comes to mortgages, our team of Mortgage Mums know how to find the best deal.” – Sarah Tucker, The Mortgage Mum

Mothers are hard-working, capable and resilient; they are also often over-looked in the workplace and under-appreciated by society.

In a world that too often pits women against one another and baits them in spiteful competition, The Mortgage Mum was determined to showcase and celebrate the other side to women, particularly mothers, in business. A side that has always been there but is quietly emerging as something deserving of recognition.

Women supporting women, kindness, friendship – they are more than social media trends and buzz words; it’s a revolution and it’s one that The Mortgage Mum is very proud to be a part of.

Despite the beautifully varied industries in attendance, the businesswomen invited along to this very special event; all have one thing in common – solidarity.

Held in the upstairs of The Squeeze Café, Leigh-on-Sea – a hidden gem of an event space with helpful staff, a drool-worthy menu and coffee that really hits the spot (perfect for parents) – the venue was exquisitely decorated with the always-tasteful OTHERLETTERS and stunning fanciful flower arrangements courtesy of BelleRose Flower Boutique.

As the party took place during half-term, and in recognition of Mum’s being the multi-talented specimens that they are, all children were invited along to the party as well.

How to entertain a room full of children, long enough for their mother’s to have a hot cup of coffee and a natter? The fabulous Teepee On Sea provided some gorgeous hideaways for the little ones to retreat into whilst enjoying a hot chocolate and a giggle with their fellow partygoers.

Meanwhile, Florence and Bunny seriously stepped up to the challenge by providing a selection of dress-up accessories – their infamous capes and crowns went down a treat with adults and children alike!

Plus, Picture-This Books™ supplied complimentary copies of The Imagination Garden – the first in a series of super creative books that children get to illustrate themselves as they take a mindful journey into their imaginations.

With cute and quirky decorative plaques provided by the brilliant Fridays Child London and magical and empowering prints by the incredibly talented Bear & Bloom, every last detail had been taken care of and every businesswoman honoured.

The flower wall backdrop, as featured in many of the gorgeous photos was courtesy of One Hire Events and the entire room was filled with a heady and heavenly scent, thanks to the handmade candles by Treasures On Sea.

Of course, a party wouldn’t be a party without cake! Local Wilma’s Bakery more than delivered with a selection of gallery-worthy cakes and cupcakes that were as delicious on the taste buds as they were on the eyes.

Sarah Tucker and event organiser Camilla Bevington ensured that no wonderful women were left out – Sarah was fashioned head to toe by a collective of super talented local ladies in business – styling by s.a.s.h., wearing pieces from Store Thirty3, make-up by snicebeauty and hair by Halo Hair by Lorna Tomlin. In some shots you’ll also spot handmade masterpieces from the Black and Sigi jewellery range.

Setting the tone for her new and rapidly growing business baby – The Mortgage Mum – and getting clear about her moral values and personal objectives, Sarah Tucker is a leading light and fantastic example of what it is to be a woman in business in 2020.
